Fate/ Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz!: For The "Fans"!

Hey there. Wolvenciel here for another review on yet another season of this seemingly innocent anime series, Fate/ Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya.

They added a "herz" on the title god knows why...

Now you might be wondering why the heck would I even cover the series season by season? Why was I driven to this length of passion and consistency? No its not because I am a lolicon. Its because I wanted to see for myself just how good (or bad) this fate spin-off series is.

AND BOY DID I SAW SHIT

Fan Service, Fan Service, And More Fan Service

This season of the anime was... very very very uncomfortable for me. I was half expecting it anyways because I asked an opinion from a friend first before watching this but seriously, I was still shaken up.

Beach? How about jail instead?

The amount of loli fan service this time around was too much for me to ignore. If I had to say... the anime has about 80% fan service and only 20% plot and action COMBINED. Yes. Its that bad. I am not sure how to really say it so I'll just show you guys what I saw... Sigh.

Guess what this mood leads into. GUESS.

INTO LOLI YURI. SHEESH.

Negligee Kuro. If you think its sexy, you're just bad...

And then there's this too...

There are a lot more fan service moments (God I swear a full 8 episodes were about everyday life and loli fan service and nothing else) and really I just kind of wished it to end as fast as possible because I need to see the plot (both literally and metaphorically).

BL, BL, And EVEN MORE BL

Actually I have no problems with this. Really. I don't mind. I am a bit inclined to the same sex myself. Its just that the whole anime has become somewhat of a parody of some sort (like how I imagined it to be when I first watched season one) and sure I get it, they want to let some tension off of the characters after a long serious plot before getting into it again.

There you have your generic spectacles wearing fujoshi...

Its just that I kinda miss the series having a good balance of both everyday lives and magical girl action. Now it felt like a filler season or something.

Definitely a fujoshi fantasy. Some of you won't understand this reference though.
Don't get me wrong though. Some of the moments were funny as hell and I enjoyed it anyways. But not as much as I would previously.

Genderbent trio. Because yuri is too overrated in the girl's mind

I was laughing hard at this.. Goddamnit. (Again some of you might not understand this)

Shiro, Shero, and Onii-chan

Then there's also this guy. I guess he won't have it easy anywhere. He's just bad with girls. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the 3rei part of the anime though. They said he was going to be cool there (not going to spoil much). Its always fun seeing him get in trouble. But I guess that's just me.

One trouble after another I guess.

His face there... is like... uh... I can't say it here. That'd be NSFW

All Service, No Action

All in all, I really am a bit disappointed watching this season of the anime. It lacked everything that it had in the previous seasons (except probably comedy and daily life) and there wasn't much action even at the end of the series.

MWAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA

The action scenes were not as animated and extravagant as they were before but hey at least I got to see my favorite King of Heroes in action for a while (albeit being a bit on the bad guy side and everything).
And there he is. So funny.

The opening and ending songs also didn't really catch my ears. Overall, I'd say just watch it for the plot and endure it for a bit. Unless you're a lolicon. Then you're in heaven.

It was good enough I guess. Good enough. Good job King of Heroes.

Fate/ kaleid liner Prisma Ilya 2wei!: I Hate Fevers...

So hey there guys. Long time no see... Yeah I was on hiatus for a week there because I caught a fever. In my country there's quite a sudden outbreak of the Zika virus which is a mosquito-transmitted thingy and people are getting sick in droves. I just caught a normal fever so thank goodness.

Taken from www.animecornerstore.com

So anyways, here we are again for yet another Prisma Illya review. I kinda told you guys I'd do it as the event comes but due to the fever... Yeah I didn't even get to complete my Kuro... or the event... SIGH.

Bring The Jail To Me

Now, I did say that I'd hold the verdict for a while and wait till I watched the second season but sweet mother of Neptune... The loli fan service became even more savage than in the first season.

The rumored kissing monster... In action... gulp.

I mean there are crazy ass french-kissing scenes and also some light wincest (if you guys don't know, people combined the word "win" and "incest" and made this monster indicating that incest is the best possible shipping. F**k you guys) during the first half of the anime.

Again... Wincest. But hey, if it was me, I'd just think of it as sibling love.

But that is kind of it. Yes. Really. Sure there were mild fan service here and there during the second half of the anime but hey, I'll overlook those. Still... The ones that they did do... I... I'm sorry. Its really just not something I'd go into.

Buuuut... Illya has other ideas of course... sigh...

The Comedic Duo

Now, I didn't actually see much of these two people playing a part in the first season of the anime (besides being fairly annoying because they just fight and fight and fight all the time) but in this season, boy do they crack me up.

Plus their facial expressions are just golden...

The anime has a lot of fan service and gut-wrenching (sure not gut-wrenching but tense) situations and these two never failed to return the atmosphere to normal with their goofy antics and their constant bickering (yes they do still fight but its in a more acceptable way for me I guess)

They also made light of this situation (it'll make more sense if you followed the fate series beforehand but still funny if you didn't)

Grown Women

Ahem... Okay the anime became a bit more fun for me because I get to see some grown women that I didn't get the chance to see in the Fate/ Stay Night and UBW series because of various reasons. Sure this is another form of fan service, but its the kind that I prefer.

This woman. I still am angry at myself for missing out on her in FGO (Fate/ Grand Order, a mobile game)
First of all is Irisviel, Illya's mom. During the first season, she was only up a few minutes but this time around she's here to stay and she (kind of) played a part in the plot as well. Its always nice to see her smiling and talking and "ara ara" here and there and everywhere. Ahem.

And then there's this girl (uh sorry about that sidebar being there...)

Bazett is actually one of those characters you don't really see flaunting her stuff (unless if you read the Fate visual novels) and boy does she put up a good show in this series. Sure she's a stoic, battle-hardened church chick but hey, you really want to look forward to this girl and all her moves.

ITS TO DIE FOR.

Well Anyways

So all in all, I do think that the fan service was pushed a few notches up this season but the action weaved in between them all makes it worth the watch. If you're no lolicon, I'd still recommend it for the fights (plus there ain't any emotional breakdowns that drag the story this time around).

Guess who this is. (Again, sorry for the sidebar, I am really just too lazy to cut it out from the frame)

Rkidz's Japan Travel Blog - Day 5: City hopping around Tokyo

Day 5.

City hopping all over Tokyo.

I've decided to give it all and try to visit as much of Tokyo as I could. My first destination is the centre of Tokyo itself. And what's better way to do so other than going to the Tokyo Tower. Before going there however, I stumbled upon Zojoji Temple located just next to the iconic red tower. Zojoji Temple is the head temple of the Jodo sect of Japanese Buddhism in the Kanto Region. It's strange to encounter a calm, quiet area despite being in the centre of one of the world's busiest city.

After a short walk through the greeneries is the Tokyo Tower. Standing 333 meters high in the center of Tokyo, Tokyo Tower is the world's tallest, self-supported red steel tower and 13 meters taller than its model, the Eiffel Tower. To go up the main observatory, you have to pay 900 yen. At 150 meters, it is reached via elevator. To go higher, you need to pay more money of course, but that's totally optional. The observatory offers a magnificent view of the city, will tall building sprawling everywhere and little block of houses lined up in a really orderly fashion. Directly below the tower stands the "Foot Town" building, which houses a variety of souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and the One Piece Tower, an indoor amusement park. You need to pay more to enter the park, and because I don't have enough time and money to spare I reluctantly pass the chance to go inside.

Later on, I went to the Imperial Palace. You can't really go to the castle ground itself but visitors are allowed to walk around The Imperial Palace East Gardens. The garden is a part of the inner palace area and open to the public without any entrance fee. None of the main buildings remain today, but the moats, walls, entrance gates and several guardhouses still exist. You can also walk around a nice Japanese style garden and just enjoy the view there.

After that, I went train hopping, starting from Shibuya. Shibuya is one of Tokyo's most colorful and busy districts, packed with shopping, dining and nightclubs serving swarms of visitors that come to the district everyday. The main area is around the Shibuya Station itself. A prominent landmark of Shibuya is the large intersection in front of the station's Hachiko Exit; the Shibuya Scramble Street. I was at awe when I went out the station. Once the pedestrian light turned green, there were a huge masses of people crossing on the Shibuya Scramble street and it was simply a breath taking view.

Then, I went to Harajuku, the city of trend and fashion. It is the center of Japan's most extreme teenage cultures and fashion styles, but also offers shopping for adults and some historic sights. The focal point of Harajuku's teenage culture is Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street) and its side streets, which are lined by many trendy shops, fashion boutiques, used clothes stores, crepe stands and fast food outlets geared towards the fashion and trend conscious teens. It was a really, really packed area. Hundreds if not thousand of people walking along a relatively narrow street while browsing through the shops lined up around the area, but it was a fun experience.

Afterwards, as the day shifted toward evening, I headed to Shinjuku where tall building sprawl all over the place. Shinjuku is also famous for its large entertainment, business and shopping area, particularly around Shinjuku Station. The only thing I did here however, is just admiring the tall building and its surrounding area before moving on to my next destination.

Later on in the night, I visited Ikebukuro. This place offers plenty of entertainment, shopping and dining opportunities. One of the prominent place here is the Sunshine City, a large shopping and entertainment complex not far from the station. The complex contains shops and restaurants, an aquarium, planetarium, museum as well as indoor theme parks; Namja Town and J-World Tokyo. I also managed to eat dinner in a Malay restaurant in a nearby dining district. It is really a strange feeling to find and eat your own local food when you are actually travelling overseas (instead of eating the country's dishes).

Overall, a hectic yet fun, adventurous day. Japan have a really convenient public transport; you could basically go almost everywhere within Tokyo in a short span of time. I enjoyed every single bit of my time here walking through different cities and experiencing varieties of atmosphere.

Well then, next up I'll be posting a 3-days trip about the main highlight of my Japan trip: Summer Comiket. I might take a while since I will be busy for a couple of days from now on, so stay tune!
