Hey there. Wolvenciel here for another review on yet another season of this seemingly innocent anime series, Fate/ Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya.
They added a "herz" on the title god knows why... |
Now you might be wondering why the heck would I even cover the series season by season? Why was I driven to this length of passion and consistency? No its not because I am a lolicon. Its because I wanted to see for myself just how good (or bad) this fate spin-off series is.
AND BOY DID I SAW SHIT
Fan Service, Fan Service, And More Fan Service
This season of the anime was... very very very uncomfortable for me. I was half expecting it anyways because I asked an opinion from a friend first before watching this but seriously, I was still shaken up.
Beach? How about jail instead? |
The amount of loli fan service this time around was too much for me to ignore. If I had to say... the anime has about 80% fan service and only 20% plot and action COMBINED. Yes. Its that bad. I am not sure how to really say it so I'll just show you guys what I saw... Sigh.
Guess what this mood leads into. GUESS. |
INTO LOLI YURI. SHEESH. |
Negligee Kuro. If you think its sexy, you're just bad... |
And then there's this too... |
There are a lot more fan service moments (God I swear a full 8 episodes were about everyday life and loli fan service and nothing else) and really I just kind of wished it to end as fast as possible because I need to see the plot (both literally and metaphorically).
BL, BL, And EVEN MORE BL
Actually I have no problems with this. Really. I don't mind. I am a bit inclined to the same sex myself. Its just that the whole anime has become somewhat of a parody of some sort (like how I imagined it to be when I first watched season one) and sure I get it, they want to let some tension off of the characters after a long serious plot before getting into it again.
There you have your generic spectacles wearing fujoshi... |
Its just that I kinda miss the series having a good balance of both everyday lives and magical girl action. Now it felt like a filler season or something.
Definitely a fujoshi fantasy. Some of you won't understand this reference though. |
Genderbent trio. Because yuri is too overrated in the girl's mind |
I was laughing hard at this.. Goddamnit. (Again some of you might not understand this) |
Shiro, Shero, and Onii-chan
Then there's also this guy. I guess he won't have it easy anywhere. He's just bad with girls. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the 3rei part of the anime though. They said he was going to be cool there (not going to spoil much). Its always fun seeing him get in trouble. But I guess that's just me.
One trouble after another I guess. |
His face there... is like... uh... I can't say it here. That'd be NSFW |
All Service, No Action
All in all, I really am a bit disappointed watching this season of the anime. It lacked everything that it had in the previous seasons (except probably comedy and daily life) and there wasn't much action even at the end of the series.
MWAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA |
The action scenes were not as animated and extravagant as they were before but hey at least I got to see my favorite King of Heroes in action for a while (albeit being a bit on the bad guy side and everything).
And there he is. So funny. |
The opening and ending songs also didn't really catch my ears. Overall, I'd say just watch it for the plot and endure it for a bit. Unless you're a lolicon. Then you're in heaven.
It was good enough I guess. Good enough. Good job King of Heroes. |
